Ben Towne Why We Chose Ben Towne Foundation: Our BAR community was looking for a way to give back and found it when one of our instructors told us the story of the Towne family.  She told us about Jeff and Carin who suffered a terrible tragedy with the loss of their son Ben and how instead of letting his death paralyze them they used their heartache as motivation to fight for a cure for childhood cancer. The impact that their efforts have made over just the last few years has been staggering.  They have inspired hope in the hearts of thousands, put together a research team that is second to none and most importantly the research has produced positive results! The Foundation’s groundbreaking work to fight pediatric cancer has recently resulted in putting two of the children, who were in clinical trials, into remission. The funds that support the Foundation, through efforts such as Bar for Ben, help to maintain immunotherapy research at the Ben Towne Center so that children like Milton Wright III, whose life was literally saved after receiving reengineered T-cells, can go on to say this about the Townes: “I would not be here without them. I was so sad about their son and I wanted to let them know I would not take this life for granted.” Check out this short video to learn more…  Ben Towne Research Profile. HOW the science works… Ben Towne – The Science More Info About Ben Towne Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation:   Ben Towne Foundation’s goal is to accelerate the pace of pediatric cancer research – changing the way childhood cancers are treated and cured. Two days before treatment ended for our son Ben, he told us he was “all done at Children’s Hospital.” He had never used those words before; rather he would exclaim, “We did it!” at the end of various hospital stays and procedures. But something in him knew, even at the age of three and a half. There was something different in his voice – he was all done.   In the aftermath of Ben’s illness and life there have been times when we wish we could have been done too – that we could turn our backs and walk away from what we have seen. But the reality of Ben’s journey and the truth that we now know – that pediatric cancer is the number one disease and killer of children – will not let us; voice for children who cannot speak for themselves. Our foundation is unique in that our costs are fully supported. This means that every gift to Ben Towne Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation right now is a donation that goes 100% toward research. And from research come cures.   With your help, we will end childhood cancer. And then – only then – will the words “all done” be fully realized.   For more information about the research organization to end childhood cancer, please visit
